Chronicle Hirschen feel-good hotel
1700
It was around 1700 when Jakob and Andreas Moosbrugger built the brewery and inn "Zum Hirschen". The art of brewing played a major role for many years now.
1870
Christian Greußing (1842 - 1908), who married the innkeeper's daughter Maria Moosbrugger, was the last brewer of the "Hirschen". The house name "Bierar" has remained to this day and is reminiscent of the brewing and serving of the noble barley juice and the founding fathers of the "Hirschen".
1890
A beautiful forest room, which was built in 1890 by Kaspar Felder, a son of the local poet Franz Michael Felder, still serves as a restaurant for à la carte in winter.
1920
A new era began with Peter Greußing (1875 – 1858), a son of Christian. In 1920, Peter undertook major renovations on the "Hirschen". As mayor of Schoppernau, he steered the fortunes of the community during the difficult years from 1918 to 1938.

1960
Jakob Greußing (1906 – 1981) ran the hospitable house with his wife Albertina until 1970. During this time they built the "Hirschensaal" with 120 seats and guest rooms.
1970
After their marriage in October 1970, Peter and Marianne took over the inn and built it into a comfort hotel through several conversion and new construction phases in the seventies and nineties. In 2003, the dining room, the bar and a spacious wellness area were built, and finally in 2005, with the active support of son Christian, a panorama adventure indoor pool.
2010
Son Christian Greußing and his wife Steffi take over the fortunes of the Hirschen.
In 2012, 14 double rooms were converted into stone pine rooms. During the renovation in 2015, a stone pine relaxation room, sports room and 6 SPA treatment rooms were added to the existing indoor pool. 3 suites were added to the main house.
In spring 2018, the entire hotel lobby, bar, reception, buffet and the wellness and sauna area were renewed and modernized. The highlight is the new outdoor whirlpool. With Louis (2011) and Emilia (2014), the next generation is already at home.
